What to pack for your vasectomy reversal operation
It’s natural to be a little anxious at the prospect of coming in for your vasectomy reversal. Being well prepared can help to put your mind at rest a little. One of the questions we are often asked is what to bring with you on the day; we’ve put together this blog to help you get started.
Your vasectomy reversal operation will be day surgery, which means that you will go home the same day, and won’t need an overnight stay. However, there are still some important things to bring with you – and other items which might help you to feel more comfortable.
Essentials
Our most regularly asked question is what underwear to bring. You will need underwear to go home in which is comfortable and supportive but not too tight. We recommend avoiding either boxers or jock straps and bring a pair of supportive pants. You will be given some spare simple dressings to put in your pants to protect the scrotal area.
Please bring with you any medications you’re already on, including things like inhalers.
You are also advised to bring a dressing gown and slippers. We recommend that the clothes you bring to travel home in are soft and comfortable – you may be feeling a little tired and sore, so bring clothes which will help you to feel relaxed.
